Enyata Inc: The Minimalist Approach to Design

It’s common for people to associate minimalism with emptiness or “scantiness,” although this is not true. In actuality, minimalist design offers an obvious method of fusing beauty with usefulness. Understanding minimalist design trends encourages the use of the cliche “less is more,” which is the core of this design school of thought.

The minimalist design hypothesis needed to be tested in an experiment. A group of students were assigned to locate a black button on a white table in the center of the classroom that also held a charger, flower vase, cup, book, and phone. After searching for the button for almost two minutes, the students found it about ten seconds after the items were removed and a tiny silver pin was placed on the table. It proves that minimalism is the best design approach.

Also, it is frequently possible to add art by using architecture as an example to demonstrate design and its use in the real world. In contrast to a minimalist design, which is just aesthetically beautiful but without action, a building can talk to you and even tell you stories about its history. This is a drawback of the minimalist strategy.

Three Things to Consider When Designing

There are three things to consider when designing for your consumers;

  1. Intention: What is the purpose of designing a certain product for your customers? What problem are you attempting to solve? How well will your products be used by your customers? You will be able to give functional products to your customers once you know the answers to these queries.
  2. Intuition: While creating your product, make sure your users can predict the next action. For example, if you tread on an egg, you know it will shatter; if you twist a door knob, you know it will open; and this should also apply to your design; if customers touch this button or press that button, they should know what will happen next.
  3. Motivation: What drives your customers to want to utilize your product? What keeps them coming back to your product? What are you doing correctly? Addressing the above questions can help you identify areas for improvement and better serve your customers.

When all three elements are missing from your design, you are building something difficult for your consumers.
