The Enyata Academy
Enyata Academy-The boot camp for tech professionals
The Enyata Academy began accepting candidates in June 2019 and has been running continuously since then. Graduates and young professionals with a goal to transition into tech participate in a challenging training program that is fast-paced and taught by software development experts.
Six cohorts of the six-month paid boot camp have been documented, and more than 50 graduates have been employed and retained by Enyata and numerous other reputable software companies.
The Academy has received around 3,000–8000 applications for each cohort, and it requires a rigorous process to onboard the selected candidates into the Academy. Although there are some eligibility requirements that must be properly followed, the selection process for getting into the boot camp is not impractical. Some of the requirements for eligibility include:
- Applicants must be aged between 18–25 yrs upon application
- Applicants must be graduates of any tertiary institution
- Applicants must have a working personal laptop
- Applicants must be ready to dedicate 6 months of their to the learning process
- Applicants must satisfy the necessary aptitude-based test to proceed to the Academy.
Candidates must submit a straightforward application form with a link to their CVs, prior projects, bios, and LinkedIn profiles after first verifying that they meet the requirements for admission.
The team sends an email in response to the application with information on the aptitude test and other screening procedures. The aptitude test evaluates applicants’ capacities for quantitative analysis, spatial reasoning, and logic. A candidate moves on to the pre-Bootcamp if they succeed in this application stage. Sadly, at this stage, there is always a decreasing number of applicants because the selection procedure is so competitive.
Inside Enyata Academy — What to expect
The Academy is set up to be valuable, with each tutor and facilitator concerned with providing quality training to a smaller group of individuals.
The main objective, for each intern, is to use the platform to build on themselves. There is a 2-week pre-Bootcamp before the Academy where candidates go through a training procedure with professionals at Enyatahq.
Candidates must choose a track and start their training with the instructor that has been assigned to them. Since it is typically a virtual session, all you need to do is commit your time, make sure your wifi is turned on, and have access to a steady supply of electricity.
Candidates are expected to take a skill-based test based on their understanding after two weeks of studying and being comfortable with the software terms.
There is typically a second round of elimination, which reduces the number of participants to under 20.
The pre-bootcamp is followed by six months of training in the Academy for those who are accepted. During this time, they do various tasks, assignments, and one-on-one interviews to gauge their degree of assimilation while earning a stipend for their hard work.
Post-Enyata Academy — The start of a tech career
The promise of employment by Enyata is the most exciting aspect of attending the Academy. Following the Academy, full-time work at Enyata (the parent company) with all its perks is made available to the graduates. For the graduates, this marks the beginning of a tech profession and the forging of a new path in their technological pursuits.
The truth is that learning never really ends. The new hires are paired with veteran software engineers, and for the next two months, they will study under their direction before being fully integrated into a team.
There is always room for development and progress; candidates can move up the Enyata hierarchy or opt to explore greater chances elsewhere.
The success stories from the Academy
As a company with a common goal of improving the lives of young people working in the IT sector, we have been astounded by the sheer volume of accomplishments from our Academy program. The same outcomes were obtained when we reproduced it further in our Ghana branch.
Through our initiatives, we are dedicated to altering lives and providing value because doing so is an investment in our company as well. A lifetime investment in our company is made when we provide our employees with high-quality training.
We have a clear goal in mind: to make the Academy a full-fledged educational institution where people may gain knowledge and plan their future after a six-month technical Bootcamp
